i stopped writing again. and megan reminded me. so i'm back.
so in the past month...went to hotlanta and had the best time with my family. pawpaw's suprise party was a smash, the armstrong karaoke reunion was ridiculous amounts of fun, dawn led really fun workout classes, and i just love hanging out like i'm one of the sisters. and i get to go back in a few short weeks for thanksgiving.
laurie and i have reached new and crazier levels of pumpkin obsession and there is talk of a pumpkin party.
in marathon training mode- ran 8 miles on sunday. i can almost taste 13.1
have been auditioning, but not much has come of anything lately.
loving my church and life group more and more each week. feel lucky to have found them.
my heart is doing great lately. and i'm trying to stick with dr. laura's advice.

party and such
my birthday party went well....played spoons, pin the tail on the donkey, and tazed mark. my sangria and cake turned out well and it seemed as if everyone had a great time. i had a slight minor catastrophy at the beginning of the night involving my recent break-up....but other than that, things went swimmingly.
i watched half the season of desperate housewives this weekend (a birthday gift) and i'm convinced i am totally a susan. ridiculous things always happen to me.
i am going to atlanta on wednesday for my pawpaw's 70th birthday party and I am quite excited. i get to spend a week with my family and there is even a mini armstrong karaoke reunion planned.
i felt like the church sermon was speaking directly to me this morning.
i went for a night run...something i never do (and all in black....not a bright idea), and i really enjoyed it. running in the burbank hills is quite spectacular at night. maybe i should do night runs more often.
i'm really lonely lately. for obvious reasons. but i'm feeling the need to vocalize it.
i particularly miss my judit today. we havent seen each other in soooo long....but we have this bond and this closeness. i miss being in the same city. heck, the same country. she totally gets me.
ok....enough for tonight.

I love birthdays.
I'm probably too old to still get super excited and obsessed with my birthday. But I do. I absolutely love my birthday. I walk around all day feeling so special and I have to supress this need to want to yell loudly at strangers that today is the day of my birth. I went jogging this morning with a huge grin on my face. I even allowed myself extra creamer in my coffee just as a little birthday girl treat. I'm quite ridiculous.
I have fabulous dinner plans tonight and my fun-filled party tomorrow. Yay for me being born!

soooo....
my life has taken a turn for the tragedy genre.
surviving this weekend with the following: prayer, long phone conversations with amazing friends, streisand movies, red wine, and fiona apple. and it's possible that megan and I are dating now.
but i have a week that I somehow need to gear up for....tomorrow 2 important auditions. more marathon training. not to mention my 26th birthday, followed by my birthday party- a fun party....no worries...I will refuse to wallow in self pity. but I have free reign to wallow until then.
wow, this is hard.

grrrrrrr
Spent an hour and a half in traffic, wasting time of a very rare night off. I had a date with a new Phillipa Gregory novel, but then this traffic set me back and there was a very unfortunate serial killer documentary that wasted another hour. So, now I'm exhausted and I need my precious sleep because I have early morning marathon training. Maybe this weekend, Phillipa.
Someone posted that they are "very disgusted by republicans under the age of 50" on myspace. I say thats a very close-minded remark by someone who prides themselves in being an open-minded liberal. I have tons more to say on this matter but there is no need to get worked up right before bed.
On the bright side- lots going on this week....auditions....karaoke contest...then fancy dinner and front row tickets at the Cal Philharmonic...gotta love the perks at my job:).

Fall Goals
Yes, I'm obsessed with goals. But they are the only way I can keep myself focused. Otherwise I get insanely scattered and anxious. It's not pretty, trust me.
-Train and complete November half marathon. (already underway)
-Get a really great talent manager. I mean, really great. (already underway)
-Organize personal and professional contacts.
-Start sewing class.
-Maintain CA Life Journal.
-Learn 2 new songs on guitar a month.
-Take improv class.
-Make one new recipe a week.
-Start new car fund.
-Learn moderation (in everything, really).

Labor Day Weekend
Went to an acting seminar this weekend. We did lots of Meisner exercises which was a nice brushup for me. Ended up kissing cute actor boy randomnly onstage during a repetition exercise and the teacher praised our scene for its truthfulness. Gee, I love my chosen profession.
Afterwards, I went to the beach for a sunset gathering where this girl shared her amazing story of how God helped her through her struggles with anorexia and suicide. Her story was very touching. And I finally got the smores I had been craving since the Huntington Lake retreat!
Sunday brought the Getty Museum with my Collision Art pals... a lovely garden picnic, wonderful art, and merry conversation. Sunday night was date night-dinner, Hamlet 2, wine and karaoke. Labor day was spent laying around like walruses and watching an old guilty pleasure...The Crush with a very young Alicia Silverstone.
Since I've now caught the Martha Stewart bug, I've redone my bathroom, tried out some new recipes, and am very much considering painting the den accent wall- Laurie and landlord willing.
I have 2 great auditions coming up that I'm rather excited about.....The Mystery Plays and The Importance of Being Earnest. I've got some preparing to do this week.

Welcome me back to blogging
I found an old private blog that I had written over 2 years ago and it was so weird. First of all, I don't even remember writing it. The writing didn't even sound like me. But what struck me what how passionate I was about my goal of somehow getting to California. I remember how hard it was to leave my east coast life....my family, my love, my comfort zone. And how scared I was. Even just the logistics....how expensive it was to move across country and even how ridiculously hard it was to even find a place to live and a job...and living in a hotel for awhile. But I finally made it here. And not only that...I am actually doing great here- career wise (the reason for moving), spiritually, emotionally, and even financially. God has really blessed me. I have an agent, a decent resume, an amazing church home, a great apartment, and a handful of really great true friends. I definately am still the same person and still an east coast girl at heart, but Los Angeles is treating me right for now.
I have just reached my 2 year California anniversary, thus inspiring this nostalgic mood I'm in. And I am quite proud of myself. I always do everything I set my mind too.
